Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology

Dear Students of Social and Cultural Anthropology,

The University of Cologne expects the Corona situation to calm down with the beginning of spring, so that full face-to-face teaching will be possible in the summer semester 2022. Teaching and learning in the summer semester should be realised in full physical presence. The precondition for full physical presence is of course that this is permitted by the pandemic situation and the legal requirements.

In addition, alternative scenarios are being prepared so that, should it be necessary, we can react flexibly to the respective situation and thereby realise as much face-to-face teaching as possible.

In case of pandemic restrictions, however, there will be no hybrid forms of teaching (i.e. face-to-face with online streaming) in S&C Anthropology, but instead either face-to-face with limited participation or online teaching.

We keep on recommending: Protect yourself and others - get vaccinated immediately!

In addition, please note:

If, due to the sequence of in-person and digital courses, you are in need of lounges and workstations to bridge gaps in the schedule or to participate in digital events that take place immediately before or after face-to-face courses, you can find an overview of the available rooms on the Corona information page:

In view of the current dynamic development of the infection situation, the UoC will regularly review the existing restrictions and appropriate adjustments and measures will be communicated via the central website

We would like to ask you to check it regularly, preferably daily.
