    Buddy Programme Summer 2026 !

    Get-together 24 April, 16:00 DoSCA Library | "Cologne Escape Tour" 28 May, 13:00 | RJM 2 July 2026, 13:00

Our Buddy Program aims to bring students from different semesters together and attempts to create an environment where students can make new connections.

The programme is part of the M.A. programme “Culture and Environment in Africa”  and should especially help international students who recently came to Cologne to link up with more experienced “buddies”.

Therefore, the programme addresses all M.A. students and we also welcome B.A. students from higher semesters to join and become a “buddy” throughout the term.

The summer term 2026 embarks on another round of the “Buddy Program”.

The program brings together students from different semesters and aims to create a welcoming environment where you can make new connections and friends!

As part of the M.A. program “Culture and Environment in Africa” (CEA), the Buddy Program is designed to support international students who have recently arrived in Cologne by connecting them with more experienced “buddies.”

The program is open to:

  • All CEA students (both new and advanced semesters)
  • M.A. students from related programs (Anthropology, African Studies, Archaeology, Egyptology, Geography)
  • B.A. students in advanced semesters who would like to participate as buddies

The following events are planned for the semester:

  • Get-together: 24 April, 16:00 in the Ethnology Library
You are warmly invited to bring something to share (food and/or drinks)

  • Playful City Tour – "Cologne Escape Tour" in the Cologne city center: 28 May, 13:00 – meeting place in front of the Cologne Cathedral

  • Visit to the anthropological Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum: 2 July 2026, 13:00

For organizational purposes, please register in advance for the city tour and the museum visit by writing an email to the CEA coordinator:
