CHINA global: Centers and Margins
Summer School in Xiamen: September 10 - 17 2018
in Cooperation with Xiamen University, PR China
What is the shape of China global? How do Chinese transnational investments in infrastructures and production facilities effect lives worldwide? Which historical experiences and normative concepts inform Chinese strategies of globalization? How can and should the humanities and social sciences explore of the emergent worlds of a new global China?
These and other questions will be discussed in the seminar "Global China" under the thematic field of Center and Margins:
- Center- and margin perspectives on globalization,
- Chinese conception of world order,
- Chinese universalism and Chinese global strategies, and
- local worlds of Chinese globalization.
Schedule
The seminar consists of four sessions and an additional, week-long summer school program in Xiamen, China. The master seminar is eligible for MA-SM3 and MA-EM. Interested students can register via KLIPS 2.0.
